Supporting and Honoring Veterans and Their Families

RRCF recognizes the dedication and sacrifice of those who have served. We collaborate with our veteran partners to help fill in some of the gaps that the VA or other government service agencies do not currently provide.  We work to call attention to veterans issues and promote awareness of other veteran focused organizations.

Our Partners

Friends of Veterans

Friends of Veterans (FoV) is an organization created by veterans dedicated to helping fellow veterans and their families avoid homelessness.  Their compassionate efforts fill a void in current services by providing confidential, rapid response to veterans’ needs.  Red River is proud to support this wonderful organization by contributing to the Heating Fund each year.  This donation comes from the generosity of Red River staff through a variety of employee fundraising programs.  We encourage others to support FoV and are happy to spread the word about the organizations’ great contributions to our community.

Operation Hat Trick

RRCF is very proud to announce a partnership with Operation Hat Trick. Operation Hat Trick (OHT) was founded by the University of New Hampshire in 2007 as a program that delivers free hats to wounded service men and woman in VA hospitals. The program is dedicated to the memory of Nate Hardy, the son of a UNH professor and his wife, and Mike Koch-two Navy SEALS who fought and died together in 2008. OHT generates awareness, support, and funding for the recovery of America’s wounded warriors. OHT pursues these goals through the sale of OHT branded merchandise, proceeds of which are distributed to selected organizations that provide direct services to our wounded warriors. During our Annual Meeting Week, Dot Sheehan, the president and founder of OHT and the Sr. Associate Athletic Director at UNH, presented the story and mission of OHT to all Red River employees. At the end of her presentation each employee was given a Red River OHT hat to commemorate the partnership.

Operation Hat Trick (OHT) a long time Red River partner, and the Boston Bruins not only share a love for hockey but the common pursuit to support the US military and veterans. During the 2016-2017 season the Bruins Proshop sold OHT hats and shirts, presented by Red River, with 100% of these proceeds going to various veteran organizations through the Boston Bruins Foundation. This promotion closed at the end of the season and a $42,000 was given to OHT to help various veteran organizations around the US. Here is where the money was donated to from that promotion:

  • Veterans Count NH is a division of Easter Seals and is the emergency organization for veterans. They do tremendous work helping those who either need assistance immediately or who need it because the VA and other government agencies and programs have turned them down.
  • Exalted Warrior Foundation facilitates an adaptive yoga instruction program that is designed for wounded warriors in the active military, veterans hospital facilities, and within communities around the country.
  • New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV) is a residential and transitional facility in downtown Boston that houses and takes care of the most vulnerable homeless veterans.
  • We will be doing this promotion again during the 2017-18 season.  (eventually we’ll link to the proshop site!)

Bastion, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is an intentionally designed neighborhood in New Orleans for returning warriors and families with lifelong rehabilitative needs. Through our powerful community model that empowers neighbors as volunteers in a warrior’s care plan, we will sustain a thriving recovery from the wounds and casualties of war. In 2017,Red River along with our partners spent a day volunteering at Bastion for our community service project during our National Sales Conference.
