The Red River Charitable Foundation (RRCF), Red River’s philanthropic organization, announced today that it was the major corporate sponsor at Friends of Veterans’ (FOV) 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament, held July 14th at the Crown Point Country Club in Springfield, VT. The tournament was organized to raise money to support the efforts of FOV, a non-profit organization created by veterans dedicated to helping fellow veterans and their families avoid homelessness.
“Red River was honored to sponsor this fantastic charitable event and contribute to continuing success of Friends of Veterans in their efforts to end homelessness among veterans and their families,” said Dan McGee, Senior Vice President of Operations at Red River. “The advocacy and vital services Friends of Veterans provide directly align with Red River’s core business values as well as RRCF’s longstanding commitment to honoring and giving back to the men and women who have so honorably served our country.”
This was the second annual charitable Golf Tournament hosted by Friend of Veterans, which provides confidential, compassionate and rapid response counseling and financial services to fill the void in meeting the needs of veterans’ and their families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Friends of Veterans has been serving veterans in New Hampshire and Vermont for over 30 years and is staffed by volunteers who are veterans of honorable service from all branches of the military, National Guard and Reserves. All funds raised by the event will go directly to meeting the needs of veterans and their families.
To demonstrate its continuing commitment and outreach to veterans, RRCF will host an upcoming veterans-focused community service project during Red River’s Annual Meeting in October and serve as the primary corporate sponsor for FOV’s hockey game in March 2015, which will include a face-off between members of the New Hampshire and Vermont Army/Air National Guard.
